Dr Karissa does do home visits if it is difficult for someone to travel.


Concessions are offered for pensioners, health care card holders and children under the age of 16. If you have a larger family, please speak to Dr Karissa regarding Family care plans.

Chiropractic Care through Pregnancy

In Touch Chiropractic offers antenatal and postnatal care programs for expecting mums and their babies. Your chiropractor aims to improve the function of the mother's nervous system for optimal health outcomes. We also give advice on lifestyle factors and exercises that are important at this time and we can refer to other services in the community for pregnancy and birthing related matters. 

Having a well balanced pelvis, includes the bony structures and the ligaments and musculature that holds them together. The most optimal muscle and ligament tone and bony structure placement allows the baby room to develop without restriction to its forming cranium, spine and other skeletal structures. With proper fetal positioning, there is a significant decrease in dystocia (difficult birth)
(Chiropractic care may improve, but not guarantee proper fetal positioning. There are too many other factors that can play a part.)

If you have an unsettled baby, or are wondering if your child has a tongue tie, I can provide clarity around that and a plan going forward, either with chiorpractic care or a referral where appropriate.

I can look at Motor development milestones. (gross and fine) & Neurological development milestones.

OROFACIAL MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY (OMT)

OMT IN KINGAROY

OMT aims it's treatment at Orofacial myofunctional Disorders. These are disorders  of the muscles and function of the face and mouth. It includes Tongue Ties, swallowing function, Jaw or TMJ disorders and sleep disordered breathing, such as sleep Apnoea. There is high collaboration with other specialists such as Dentists and Speech Pathologists.


I mostly stumbled into this area of special interest through detection and referrals for babies with tethered oral tissues TOT, or tongue ties, and a growing interest in better ways to manage sleep apneoa (as I have it), and use a CPAP.
